Team Hardie and Team Henderson Confirmed to Represent Scotland at the European Curling Championships
Scotland’s representatives for the 2026 European Curling Championships have been confirmed, with Team Hardie and Team Henderson set to represent on the continental stage later this season.
Scottish Curling previously announced that, in principle, the winners of the Scottish Curling Championships would earn the right to represent Scotland at the European Curling Championships. However, because of the unique scheduling challenges presented by the Olympic season, a one-off playoff opportunity was offered to determine this year’s European representatives between the Scottish champions and the Olympic teams. Team Mouat have confirmed to Scottish Curling that they do not wish to contest the playoff. As a result, Team Hardie will represent Scotland in the men’s championship, while Team Henderson will compete in the women’s event.
Team Hardie arrives at this season’s European Curling Championships with an exciting new-look line-up. Grant Hardie has joined forces with reigning Scottish champions Ross Whyte, Craig Waddell and Euan Kyle. With Whyte throwing fourth stones and Hardie calling the game from third, the newly assembled rink combines championship-winning experience with proven talent and has quickly established itself as one of Scotland’s strongest teams heading into the international season.
Team Henderson also heads into the European Curling Championships with a refreshed line-up for the new season. Skip Fay Henderson is joined by Lisa Davie at third, Laura Watt at second and Katie McMillan at lead, with Sophie Sinclair completing the squad as fifth player. The revised rink retains a strong core of Scottish champions while adding further depth and experience, giving Team Henderson an exciting blend of consistency, versatility and proven success as they prepare to represent Scotland on the European stage.
The European Curling Championships remain one of the sport’s premier annual events, bringing together the continent’s strongest nations. Scotland has enjoyed a proud history at the event, with Scottish teams regularly challenging for medals and continuing the country’s long-standing reputation as one of curling’s traditional powerhouses.
The confirmation of Team Hardie and Team Henderson ensures Scotland will once again be represented by two highly competitive rinks capable of challenging the very best in Europe.
Congratulations to both teams on their selection and we look forward to following their journey throughout the championship and cheering them on as they compete for European honours.
