Team Mouat – Scottish Curling Men’s Champions 2020

Congratulations to Team Mouat, our Scottish Curling Champions, 2020. After a tense game played out against Team G Muirhead; Bruce Mouat, Bobby Lammie, Hammy MacMillan and Grant Hardie will now represent Scotland on home soil, at the World Men’s Curling Championships in Glasgow (28th March to 5th April).

The game here at Dewars in Perth started off with a steal of one from Mouat and they settled into form after a 2 in the 4th end.

Bruce says:

”The first end was the turning point really when you steal, we wanted to get that early so that was perfect”

The team will now represent in Glasgow, at the World Men’s Curling Championships 2020. The Emirates Arena in the East End of the city, custom built for the Commonwealth Games in 2014 will house an ice-sheet and welcome teams from around the globe.

Bruce is eager to face that challenge:

”We will be training as hard as we can, making sure we’re firing on all cylinders by the time we get there. It’s so emotional, It’s one of those ‘put your hands up in the air and scream’ moments”

I’m daunted by none of the other representing teams – I’m gonna put that out there now! I think lots of good teams will be at the worlds, but we’ve won a slam, we’ve won a bronze at worlds so we’re not going to be scared to face any of them. We are just so excited”
