Become a Director of Scottish Curling
Scottish Curling is inviting members to stand for election as a Director of the Board and help shape the future of our sport.
As the national governing body for curling in Scotland, the Royal Caledonian Curling Club is responsible for the governance, development and promotion of curling at all levels. The Board plays a key role in setting strategic direction of Scottish Curling, ensuring high standards of governance, and supporting the delivery of our long-term ambitions.

Directors are expected to think strategically, act in the best interests of the organisation as a whole, and work collaboratively and collectively with fellow Board members, staff and volunteers.
Skills and Experience We Are Seeking
To maintain a broad mix of skills and perspectives, we are particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Commercial partnerships and sponsorship
- Women in curling
- Safeguarding and wellbeing
- Coaching, technical or elite performance
- Digital media
- Finance or Financial management
Previous Board experience is not required. Relevant skills and experience gained through professional roles, voluntary work, committees, or involvement in curling are all welcomed and valued. Successful candidates will have access to relevant training opportunities.
Commitment and Term of Office
Elected Directors serve a three-year term and may serve a maximum of two consecutive terms. The role involves attending Board meetings (typically 6-10 per year), participating in committee work, and attending key domestic events during the season. No international travel will be required in the directorial role. Reasonable expenses will be reimbursed for domestic activities.

To stand for election, please complete the nomination form no later than 11:59 pm on Friday 27 February 2026.
Valid nominations will be presented to the membership for voting at least 21 days prior to the RCCC Annual General Meeting, which is currently scheduled to take place on 27 June 2026. The results will be announced during the AGM.
