Introduction
The Royal Caledonian Curling Club, trading as Scottish Curling, is a founding member of World Curling which is the International Federation for the sport of curling with 73 national Member Associations across the world.
The role of World Curling includes:

Appointment of Scottish International Reps
Scottish Curling is entitled to have four voting representatives at World Curling meetings, these individuals are appointed by and report to the Board of Directors. The Chief Executive is not a fixed appointment, but may apply, and as with the other representatives would be appointed for an initial period of 3 years, then on a rolling programme to ensure continuity. World Curling now requires its’ members with four reps to address gender balance by appointing two men and two women. The Scottish Curling reps meet with the International Relations Committee, around 3 times per year, to discuss international issues and rules and how to represent the interests of curlers. They are also expected to be in touch with competitive curlers and officials.
Being a rep is not an entitlement or reward but should be regarded as a commitment over several years. For some it is part of a pathway to volunteering on a World Curling commission or the World Curling board. Scottish Curling will provide opportunities for training and personal development in order that our reps possess the necessary skills and understanding. Expenses for attending overseas meetings are paid by Scottish Curling with support from UK Sport.
