Scottish Curling Academy Application
Selection eligibility for the Scottish Curling Academy in season 2027-28.
All curlers aged between 14-20 wishing to be considered for the Scottish Curling Academy must meet ALL of the following criteria:
- Participate in the Scottish Junior Qualifiers and/or Scottish Junior Mixed Doubles Qualifiers.
- Actively playing within in the U17 or U21 Asham slam series. (minimum 1 event played)
- Currently an athlete within the pathway or attend an Emerging Pathway Day at the end of the season 2026-27.
Any U14 curler who will age into U17s in season 2027-28 must:
- Be actively playing in the U14 & U17 Asham slam series. (minimum 1 event played in each age group)
- Attend an Emerging Pathway Day at the end of the season 2026-27.
There will be an introduction of minimum standards across technical ability and fitness which will need to be met by any athlete who wishes to be considered. Meeting these standards does not guarantee a place within the Academy. All relevant testing will be carried out during the season within Academy Squad Days or Pathway Days for those currently not in the Academy.
There may be circumstances where someone does not meet all of the above but will still be considered for selection, i.e cannot play Scottish Juniors due to eligibility in season 2026-27, serious injury etc. These will require a conversation with the Academy Manager ahead of application submission.
If you have any questions, please contact Scott Andrews, Academy Manager, on 07762333590 or scott@scottishcurling.org for further information.
Applications for the 2026-27 Season are now closed.
